If you’re wondering where to start, here are some of the Southern Meccas of Entertainment.

Go way south to the Port of Miami. Along with the world famous South Beach, it’s a great place to catch one of many cruises that sail the Caribbean seas. There’s plenty to do before and after the cruise in this cosmopolitan city. Head three hours north to Orlando, and experience one of the most famous entertainment attractions in the world. Disney World and Epcot Center. Leaving Florida, you can travel north or west and hit some great entertainment spots, so try west and then head north.

Biloxi is a good overnight stop, so try some gambling, if you’re into that. Just save some money for the legendary Bourbon Street in New Orleans. There is nothing like the culture of the Crescent City. Food, jazz and history meld into one amazing attraction. From there, make a long haul ten hour drive to Austin. The self-proclaimed live music capitol of the world will serve up some of the best rock, country, folk and blues in the nation. Fine dining is an integral part of this city’s vibe, so soak in the culture of Texas in a laid back jewel of a city.

Now head north. Head straight to Tennessee. Get your fix of blues entertainment in Memphis. Don’t forget to visit Elvis while you’re there. Then head over to Nashville for the best in country music. Visit the legends and the stars at the Grand Ol’ Opry. Now you’re ready for some golf and antebellum culture. Wind up and then wind down in the lush beauty of South Carolina, where the living is easy and the men are still gentlemen. Entertainment doesn’t get any better than the kind you find traveling through the South.
